Money Card

Is it tacky to put a card in your wedding invitations asking for money/giftcards?

I’m getting married in April and my fiance and I have been living together for a while and have pretty much everything that we need, so we do not want to register. We want to purchase a bedroom set at a furniture store that does not have a registry. Is it tacky for us to make a small card to add to our invitations that politely asks for money and gift cards?

Do you feel a Reception Card Holder is necessary?

We are contemplating buying one. It is affordable (20.00) but just curious if it is necessary or helpful? Or just a waste of money. Thanks! This is what it looks like: http://www.partycity.com/cgi-bin/parties/accessories.cgi?thepartytype=&name=Ivory%20Keepsake%20Chest&parties=Wedding&productstype=Misc&products=183486&zoom=1&start=&originaltype=Accessories

I am giving money at a wedding on Saturday. Do I give a check or cash?

Naughty Angel ?Wife? asked:

My boyfriend and I are going to my guy friend’s wedding, and it is the first one of any of our friends to get married. So we don’t really know the correct protocol.

I thought we would give a check, but he says cash. Both the bride and groom are American, if that helps.

We already bought a regular card, not a money holder. What to do?

It is for my son and his girlfriends wedding, and they have asked me to make a money card box. All I have is a cardboard box to use.
